This course will require you to create digital images and presentations for your Digital Object assignments and for a Final Project. The digital resources you select and use are entirely up to you. This page provides links to suggested tools for digital image editing and video production but feel free to explore your own options. If you already have access to image manipulation software, that is fine too. You are also free to use the image editing features on your phone.
AI Resources
- Adobe Firefly - This is a generative AI tool in Adobe Creative Cloud that lets you create images, text effects, and visuals from simple prompts. It offers an easy way to enhance your creative projects.
Digital Imaging
- Adobe Creative Cloud - this is the industry standard for digital imaging and production. This page links to the student version with reduced pricing. You may have access to this already based on prior courses in the Digital Media Arts program.
- Google Play offers many free apps for image editing but you need to search and identify those that would work best for you (Google Privacy Policy, VPAT).
- GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) - This is an open source image manipulation program but it does require downloading to your computer (VPAT)
Digital Media (word, image, sound)
- PowerPoint Narration and Video - The latest version of this program allows for on-camera recording and exporting as video. Students have access to this program via Microsoft 365. Read about Microsoft Accessibility and Privacy at Microsoft.
- Canva - This site offers a free version for creating infographics, logos, presentations, flyers, and social media content (Accessibility at Canva).
- iMovie is for Mac users and offers amore traditional "light" approach to video editing (Apple Privacy Policy, VPAT).
- Windows Movie Maker is for PC users and may be less user friendly than other options (Privacy at Microsoft, Accessibility).
- Adobe Spark offers a free download for two months only. Spark has many features but look for short videos. (Adobe Privacy Policy, VPAT).
- VivaCut - PRO Video Editor, Video Editing App This is a video editing app for the Android that is available via Google Play; checkGoogle Play for free options and for video editors compatible with other mobile devices. (Check the Google Privacy Policy).
- Google Slides for creating a digital presentation or photo gallery (Google Privacy Policy,VPAT)
Hosting Digital Media:

- Vimeo may be a suitable hosting site but review the Vimeo Accessibility Statement. Vimeo Basic is the free option (Vimeo Privacy Guidelines, VPAT).
